Q: How fast can my translation be completed?
Depending on the style, complexity, and specific needs of each job the time frame may vary. However, we usually request a minimum of 2-3 business days to allow for proofreading, editing, and QA oversight.  For more immediate deadlines, rush service can be arranged.

Q: How much will my translation cost?

Translation costs can vary according to the type of document being translated. Criteria that will determine the price of your translation include the language or languages, word-count, subject matter expertise (SME), deadline, and whether copy editing or transcreation is required.

A good translation company will always make you aware of the cost before the project begins.

Q: How quickly can I get more information and a quote?

During business hours we will be in touch with you within the hour with an estimate of costs and a timeframe.

Q: How should I prepare my document for translation?

We are prepared to receive your documents and, files numerous ways and can also work within your platforms for maximum flexibility.and while all translations are unique, there are three factors universal to all: the source language, the target language, and the deadline.

When speaking with our team please note

  • The source language is the original, document/s current language.

  • The target language is the language to which it will be translated

There may be multiple sources and target languages.

The deadline is when you need the translation completed.

Q: What is a “native speaker” and what do they have to do with my translation?

In simple terms, a ‘native speaker’ is Everything. While many translators spend years studying a foreign language, it may take a lifetime to achieve a natural, native voice. A native speaker will ensure the highest-quality translation available.

  •
  • Example: If a document is translated from English to Spanish, the translation should be performed by a native Spanish speaker. This is especially important for the translation of creative text, such as marketing copy, localized web copy, and writing with colloquialisms/ idioms.

Interpretation Guide

Q: What types of interpreting services are there?

There are three kinds of interpreting services include: consecutive, simultaneous, and telephonic and video interpreting services (VRI).

If you are conducting a webinar or online conference we can also provide our services.

Not sure which kind of interpreting your meeting, conference, or other event needs? Contact translations@rennert.com for a free assessment.

Q: Will I need more than one interpreter?

Normally, yes, due to the rigorous nature of simultaneous interpreting work, the interpreters typically work in pairs it is advised to secure at least two interpreters allowing time for rest at 20-minute intervals. If your assignment will last longer than 30 minutes. The interpreters will rotate every 15 minutes, allowing them to rest between shifts.

Q: Will I need to obtain special interpreting equipment for my event?

You may need equipment for conferences and live events.  Additionally, you may need a platform to broadcast an event online.

If you require simultaneous interpreting, you may need additional equipment if :

  • The audience requiring interpretation is large. For small audiences (under 5 people), the interpreter can whisper the interpreted language, provided that this will not be disruptive to your event.

  •

  • The interpreter will be seated away from their audience. In this case, a microphone and headsets will be used to transmit the interpreted language.

  •

This is no easy question and largely depends on the type of event you are hosting. For a free evaluation of your needs, please contact translations@rennert.com.
